I have been an avid fan of infrared photography and the dreamlike or surreal images it can produce ever since I saw an article about it in a photography magazine — I forget which — while I was living in Indonesia in the late 1980s. As soon as I got back to the UK, I bought a couple of rolls of Kodak High-Speed Infrared black and white film to try it out. After that, I didn’t do that much infrared photography until 2015 when I bought an old Nikon D80 which had been adapted for infrared photography with a 720nm filter. More recently, I had my Panasonic Lumix G3 adapted for infrared with 590nm filter which allows more possibilities for colour.
